🍽️📚 A LITTLE TASTE OF SOMETHING GOOD! 📚🍽️
Our incredible librarians, Ms. Law and Ms. Gray, turned the library into a literary café with a BOOK TASTING! ❤️🤍📖
Students pulled up a seat, opened the “menu,” and sampled books from a variety of genres—getting just enough of a taste to discover something that sparked their interest. From the gingham tablecloths and place settings to the baskets and chef attire, Ms. Law and Ms. Gray went ALL IN to make reading an experience! 👩🍳📚
At Semmes Middle School, we strongly believe that there is a book for EVERY student—sometimes they just haven’t found it yet! That’s why we want our Bulldogs visiting the library often, exploring new authors and genres, and finding books they genuinely WANT to read.
A huge THANK YOU to Ms. Law and Ms. Gray for creating such a fun and memorable way to connect our students with books. 💙💛
And judging by these pictures… the Bulldogs definitely found a few books worth ordering from the menu! 📖
🐾 Stop by the library, Bulldogs. Your next favorite book might just be waiting for you!
It's gameday for the SMS Flag Football Team! You can buy your tickets at https://gofan.co/event/6821388?schoolId=AL25527. Come cheer on your SMS Lady Bulldogs as they battle Barton at the MGM Football Field at 3:30.

KNOW THE RULES. RESPECT THE POLICIES. ENJOY THE GAME.
An exciting team building activity in the Semmes Middle School WBIB workroom! Students conducted their own FOD Walk while playing the FOD Walk Board Game. Good leaders must first be good teammates. This 2026-2027 1st Semester WBIB class is shaping up to be a great one. There are some excellent Bulldog leaders emerging.
Good afternoon, Parents and Guardians,
This is a friendly but important reminder that the Semmes Middle School Cell Phone and YONDR Pouch Policy will be strictly enforced beginning Monday, August 17, 2026.
As shared in the SMS Weekly Outlook, students have been given the opportunity each morning this week during Homeroom to purchase a YONDR pouch if they did not purchase one during registration.
Beginning Monday, August 17:
NO cell phones may be brought onto the Semmes Middle School campus unless they are powered off and secured inside a YONDR pouch.
Students are expected to have their phones properly secured in their YONDR pouch upon arrival and throughout the school day.
Cell phone violations will be addressed according to the MCPSS Code of Conduct.
Students who still need to purchase a YONDR pouch may do so Tuesday and Thursday mornings only through the month of August.
Until a YONDR pouch has been purchased, students may NOT bring a cell phone onto campus.
We ask that parents and guardians please review these expectations with their students before Monday morning. Your support and cooperation are essential as we consistently implement this mandated policy and work to maintain a focused, distraction-free learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, we would like to remind parents that Rooms in the Mobile County Public Schools app is the place to stay connected and communicate directly with your students' teachers.
It's time! We are excited to welcome our students back into the building tomorrow! Please be aware that we begin take in at 6:45 am, tardy bell rings at 7:05 and dismissal is at 2:05. Your child should know the method they will take to get home tomorrow, whether it be bus or carline. Phones, earbuds as well as smart watches should be powered off and locked in their Yondr pouches before entering the building. Again, we are excited to see all of our students tomorrow!! It's going to be a wonderful year!!
