Last week we had a wonderful time celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday at Calcedeaver Elementary! 🎉📚
A special thank you to Mr. Jeffrey Schmitz from Alabama Power for taking the time to come read to our students. The kids absolutely loved the stories and the fun Cat in the Hat visit!
We also want to thank our student community helpers who did a fantastic job reading to their peers. It was so great to see our students sharing their love of reading and helping make the day extra special.

The following message comes directly from the MCPSS Superintendent:
Parents, MCPSS has been monitoring the weather all weekend and has been in discussion with Mobile County emergency officials regarding the forecast for Monday. Based on the most recent updates, we will have school on Monday, January 26, on our normal schedule. Students are expected to wear their uniforms, but to stay warm, they will have the option of layering either under or over their uniforms. We will continue to monitor the weather and the roads. We look forward to seeing each of our students tomorrow.
